How Long does it take to clean a large home?

Based on the large homes we clean, Once we have cleaned your home a few times you can expect us to take about one hour per 1,000 SF / per cleaner. We will only send one cleaner to your home at a time.

Why does it take several hours to clean a large home?

Well, it’s a large home.

Here are a few things we clean when we clean a large home (or any home for that matter):

• We clean everything in the bathrooms except the paint
• In the kitchen we pull all the items on the counter away from the walls. We clean the counters where the counter items were. We clean what is on the counters, put everything back and then clean the front of the counters.
• We clean the outside of fridge
• We clean the stovetop, stove knobs, the backsplash and the front of the stove.
• We will clean the outside of the fridge and dishwasher.
• We clean the sink and faucet to be spotless
• In the kitchen we vacuum and mop the floor
• The dust the entire home
• We will vacuum any flooring and mop any hard flooring.

How long it takes to clean a large home depends on the home and the desires of the owner. Large homes and owners all have different needs. We always adjust to what the owner needs most.

Personal Story About Large House Cleaning: When I first moved to St. George, I cleaned a very large luxury home in Santa Clara for a while. It was 8300 SF and had 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms. They wanted the entire home cleaned every time. It was an all day job. Two interesting notes: That was the only home I ever cleaned that had a suit of armor. It was in the main hall. They also owned a Rolls Royce. Rolls Royces are almost non-existent in St George.

They had made their money by buying a fixer-upper motel, fixing it up and then selling it.

What we use to clean

We use water and Dawn dishwashing detergent mixed in a spray bottle to do our cleaning. I know that my cleaner, Krisandra, uses a scented floor cleaner. It’s not an overwhelming smell, it just helps to make the home smell clean after she’s done.

How Often Should You Have Your Home Deep Cleaned?

How often a deep cleaning is done is up to you. One time only, once per year, twice a year, whatever feels right to you.

It just always feels like nothing is ever done even though I’m pretty tidy.

I’ve tried doing the task a day, for instance mopping the whole house one day etc but it legitimately is too much work for one person!

Answer:  My husband was annoyed that I spent 380 on a robot vacuum like, 4 years ago. Within a WEEK he was converted and saying he would buy another one the very next day if it stopped working. We've since named our robot vacuum and refer to him as a family member hahaha. With two cats, a dog, and a toddler, this is some of the best money I've spent!!

For blinds, frequent dusting helps a lot. Just use a feather duster or water to clean. No oils or soaps as those get dust sticking to them.

Instead do one small task at a time. For example clean the outside of the kitchen appliances one day, then clean the kitchen counters the next day.

Cleaning supplies:

Have cleaning seperate cleaning supplies for each bathroom and for the kitchen. It's alway odd to me to clean a home for the first time and find that there are no cleaning supplies in the bathrooms.

Conserve your energy (and sanity)

Of course concentrate your efforts on cleaning rooms that are used the most and leave the other rooms for when you have a lot of energy.
