House cleaning problems and cleaning solutions St. George

Cleaning Problems and Cleaning Solutions
No matter the size, all homes get dirty. That’s called job security.
I’ve come across a lot of cleaning issues. Most are fixable. For example shower pans that are brown instead of white. Kitchen counters with crumbs embedded in the cracks and behind the things on the counters. My 89-year old dad uses tons of body powder so all the handles in the kitchen are caked with powder.
Here’s what works for the worst problems.
House Cleaning Myth Busting
Mixing Bleach and Ammonia (or vinegar) Makes a "Super Cleaner"
This is absolutely untrue! Don't do this! Mixing ammonia and bleach create a gas called Cloramine which is highly toxic. If is doen't kill you it will permanently badly damage your lungs.

Problem: Surface cleaning isn't cutting it
Solution(s): Deep Cleaning is one solution.
The best solution is to hire professional house cleaners who clean for you every other week.
Occasionally your home might need more than a quick cleaning.
It's time for deep cleaning
Deep cleaning might include:
• Cleaning baseboards by hand
• Dusting ceiling fans
• Vacuuming air vents
• Cleaning grout
• Vacuuming behind the couch
• Kitchen cabinets
• Scrubbing tile floor
You decide what needs deep cleaning and that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Problem: Airbnb cleaning
Solution: Hire an exceptional house cleaning service that specializes in cleaning vacation rentals
Airbnb vacation rental cleaning is for when my guests show up acting like CSI investigators
Airbnbs in St. George get dirty, that’s a given. Guests love opening patio doors which lets dust in. Also, why is it that visitors leave the garage door up leading to dirty and leaves coming in the garage and of course then the home. Yea! More cleaning!
Guests see everything that was not done to their standards. My vacation rental cleaning team does:
- Resetting bedrooms
- Cleaning bathrooms to be spotless
- Wiping kitchen counters and cabinets
- Cleaning out the fridge. There is always something in there left by the last guest.
- Cleaning (if needed) furniture and putting it back where it belongs. Guests love to move furniture for some reason.
- Washing windows. Our sister company “First Impressions Window Cleaning” can help you with that.
- Emptying the trash, of course
Hosts in Paradise Village, Arcadia Resort (across the street) rely on on us for detailed Airbnb cleaning. We can do that.

Household Hacks That Actually Do Something — because you deserve better than tips involving "lemons and wishful thinking."
Here’s what helps most when it comes to having a clean home.
- Wipe dust often
- Change air filters regularly.
- Turn sprinklers away from glass
- Vacuum tile instead of sweeping
- Mop the hard floors a couple of times per month
- Use a clean string mop (like janitors use) for best results.
- Flat-top stoves cleaning up fairly well with a razor blade scraper, Dawn powerscrub, Ajax, and a gentle scrub pad
- Reach around and clean the floor behind your toilet. It gets gross back there
Hire a cleaning service to do deep cleaning twice a year including cleaning out the fridge and the inside of the oven.
Best advice: hire a good house cleaning service to clean at least 2 times per month.

Problem: Thinking that a clean hack seen on YouTube works the way that was mentioned.

Problems: clutter, not cleaning, and cleaning and depression
Solution: Have your house cleaner clean your home every other week and declutter on the off weeks.
Problem: I’m a grown single man and I can’t keep my house clean
Solution: There are a couple of ideas: do small cleaning tasks everyday to cut down the stress. The other idea is to hire a housecleaner. Let someone who is a skilled cleaner clean for you.
They’ll help you by cleaning your home. You’ll help them by helping them keep up with the bills.
Problem: I have depression which makes cleaning the house impossible.
Solution: If you have insurance they might pay for cleaning help. When my depression is really bad, I’ll clean 3 small things next time I go to the bathroom. A small thing could even be brushing my teeth.. This works for me.

What are the hacks that have saved you time and made cleaning more convenient?
I keep one of the little fish sponges with a handle you fill with soap in the shower so I can scrub the tub down when I’m done showering.
Anything else like this that makes cleaning really quick and convenient?
I’m a residential housekeeper, and I don’t want to clean my house after I’ve cleaned my client’s houses.
I choose and keep one cleaning chemical or tool with me for the evening. If I choose a feather duster, or a high low duster, it takes just a few minutes to flit through my rooms. I can also easily use the item in the rooms that I go into, as I randomly need to go into them. I’m tired, so no pressure.
If I choose a harder cleaning item, like barkeeper’s friend, I’m only cleaning the tub basin and maybe the sink if I’m feeling like a superhero. Then I’m done.
This method also allows for picking items that I never would have
So much easier to clean if there’s not many objects in your way to begin with.
Cleaners and hosts of Reddit, what tricks can you share that help you make sure that your place is always spotless?
Mine is to have enough spare towels and bedding to never get too stressed about any stains. I find it really difficult though to keep pots and pans shiny, particularly since I keep them in a cupboard with all kinds of other things, like basic ingredients, manuals etc.

We have a checklist that myself and my husband use when we clean. He has his designated rooms and I have mine. When we are finished we check the others work to make sure everything was cleaned up to standard. This normally turns into an argument, so we always have a couple drinks ready for when we get back home lol.
