standard cleaning

If you live in St. George, you already know that red dirt has no shame. It sneaks into the house even through the smallest of openings. If there is one, it will find it. You’ll find red dirt in areas you didn’t know existed.

Some locals get so tired of the dirt. It’s never ending. This is the moment you realize “house cleaners near me” wasn’t a joke. You actually need a great, not just good, house cleaner.

Dust, sticky spots, and whatever that mystery goo is on the kitchen counter can push anyone over the edge.

That’s when I show up. You’ve got better things to do in your day. You want to be outside in the sunshine. Unless it’s July. Then you want to be inside with the AC on full blast.

While you’re out living your best life, I’m inside cleaning.

Dust Doesn’t Pay Rent but Still Moves In Anyway

Standard cleaning keeps the dust and dirt from taking over. I do this all over Southern Utah. Washington, Santa Clara, Ivins, and everywhere the red dirt likes to party.

A standard visit can be weekly, biweekly, or monthly. I clean the kitchen and bathrooms. I clean and dust the whole house. I vacuum carpets. I vacuum and mop hard floors. It’s simple. It works.

In Winchester Hills where I live, everyone ends up in the kitchen. Same thing in Desert Color. Food has that effect on people. So I spend extra time cleaning the kitchen. I use eco-friendly products on anything that needs help. It will be squeaky clean by the time I get through with it.

After I vacuum, the carpets will look like new. You’ll want to take your shoes off at the door. My vacuum keeps the carpets from aging ten years in one summer.

[Problem] Dust setting right after cleaning

So I just cleaned my whole apartment. I cleaned my work place table especially using normal cleaning items with hot water. Everything was fine for about 3h. Now I just tested with my hands and moved along the table - about 1m - and there was already a layer of dust.

How does this happen? I would need to clean every day with the dust setting down so fast.

If you have a ceiling fan, was it running? Did you clean it?

If not, I've found some dusting techniques work better than others. Feather dusters/their modern replacements seem to just lift the dust into the air. I use microfiber cloths, which seem to work better since they trap the dust.

It's also possible that your apartment's vents need to be cleaned, or the furnace filter (if the heat's running) needs to be replaced. If it's full of dust it can't filter out dust, so the heating system is just pumping it right back into the air.

Housekeeping for When You Blink and Suddenly Everything Needs Cleaning Again

Sometimes you need more than a standard clean. That’s when housekeeping comes in. Think of the robot from the Jetsons if you’re old enough to remember that. That will be us. Cleaning service on steroids.

Housekeeping can mean washing dishes and putting them away, folding laundry, picking up the toys left in the living room, or cleaning up after family visits. It’s the normal stuff that piles up right before your eyes.

Older neighborhoods near the St. George Temple have small closets. That means clutter grows fast. Regularly using a housekeeper in downtown St. George, Sunriver, or The Ledges keeps things from getting out of hand.

Deep Cleaning For When You’re Too Busy to Bother With It.

Even with regular cleaning, every home needs a deep clean twice a year. I’m sure at least one of these will hit home.

    • Run the oven clean cycle.
    • Clean the oven racks.
    • Clean under the stove.
    • Clean the fridge and freezer.
    • Vacuum window tracks.
    • Clean light switches.
    • Clean baseboards.
    • Wipe door frames.
    • Deal with pet hair. Lots of it.
    • And much more. You decide.

Windows So Clean Birds Don’t See Them

I started as a window cleaner. Clean windows matter when you have views of Red Mountain or the city lights. Hosing windows with hard water is a bad idea. The sun cooks the minerals onto the glass.

I clean windows with the right tools. No streaks. No stains. I always clean the screens too. They’ll be so clear you’ll need appliques so the birds will stay clear.
