Man doing deep clean

What the heck is Deep House Cleaning?

If a home is very messy and a homeowner doesn’t have time or maybe the energy to clean, then a deep clean might do the trick.

That’s where we come in. Literally. We have to come into the home to clean it.

Personal Story: The very first person I cleaned for when I started in the business had a home that was a total disaster. He and his kids left me: Huge piles of clean and dirty clothes. Rotten food on dishes on the kitchen counter and in the sink. Piles of unopened stuff that the guy bought and never opened (imagine looking through Amazon.com, finding interesting things, buying them but never opening the packages). He had a washer and dryer in the garage, but I never went out there because that’s where he kept his big junk-yard dog. This is a home that really, really needed a deep cleaning from a team of cleaning people.

Our clients might have deep cleaning done yearly or more depending on the client.

We've done deep cleans in Sunriver, Bloomington Hills, and west to Entrada.

“What’s the difference between regular cleaning and deep cleaning?”

Scrubbing grout

Simple answer: deep cleaning gets at the things you rarely touch or even want to touch.

For example - Regular cleaning would include:

Vacuum and mop
Bathroom and kitchen clean up
Dusting living rooms and bedrooms

But deep cleaning is a whole different ballgame:

Scrubbing the dusty baseboards
Detailed dusting especially in areas not seen too often, like behind books on book shelves
Hard water stain removal
Sanitizing high-touch areas like light switches and doorknobs
Detailed cleaning of bathroom and kitchen
Clean inside ovens and fridges
Pulling stuff out of cabinets and cleaning inside then cleaning the cabinet doors and drawer faces
Super scrubbing of tubs and toilets
Window sill cleaning is a must
We might be asked to clean patio furniture
We also might be asked to clean blinds and interior windows
While were outside we could be asked to take the silk plants outside and spray them off

I could go on, but the list could get really long

Personal story: I did a move out cleaning job for a property manager. The home was in a hurricane. The home was huge. There were bugs, dust, dirt and debris everywhere. It took 3 days, driving from my home to the rental. Three days to get that home ready to re-rent. Of course the home had sat empty for a long time, also.

How does move-out (or any moving cleaning) cleaning relate to deep cleaning?

Moving is messy, sweaty, and dusty. The last thing you want to do is clean the place you moved out of. Of course maybe you’re the odd man out and like doing move out cleanings while you are moving.

When I get phone calls for good, deep move-out cleaning, what I really hear they’re saying is:

“We need a deep clean (move-out cleaning) done so we don’t lose our deposit.”

“We don’t want to end up scrubbing cabinets once we’ve moved.”

“The bathroom looks nasty now that we have everything out."

"Do you remove deep bugs as part of your deep clean/move out cleaning?”

Moving (Deep) Related Cleaning Tasks we handle:

Kitchens and Bathrooms - from top to bottom, inside and out, over and under Baseboards, vents, ceiling fans, corner cobwebs Clean the kitchen, mop floors, vacuum carpets, clean window sills and more Pretty much anything needed so it's ready for the next family.

Quick Note: As I was sitting here proofreading this I got a call for a move-out cleaning. Couldn’t do it because I only have one cleaner and she is usually too busy to go do this kind of work.

Spring cleaning is deep cleaning just spelled differently.

Spring Cleaning Flowers

When we Spring clean we do the following and more:

We’ll wipe out window sills, tracks, frames

Dust the tops of cabinets and fans

Deep floor cleaning and baseboards (tile, wood, vinyl)

In the kitchen we’ll take care of the oven and the fridge, inside, outside, and underneath.

We help freshen up after winter visitors leave.

We work for homeowners in Washington Fields that deal with dust from construction, windstorms, and desert dust devils. Of course those are common all over Southern Utah.

Is Emergency Cleaning also a deep clean?

Every once in a while we get calls that go like this:

“We had a leak. It's been fixed but now the place is a mess."

“Someone got sick in the guest bedroom.” That's not good. You’ll need to do the initial cleaning for that.

“We got a last-minute short-term rental check-in.” Happens.

After party clean-ups is another type of job we do. Party-on!

What we can do for you if you have an “emergency”:

    • Kitchen cleaning
    • Bathroom deep cleaning
    • Vacuuming carpets and cleaning hard floors
    • We will dispose of the trash
    • Wipe down doors, knobs, switches
    • Spot cleaning walls (usually not very affective, but we’ll try)
    • Clean the guest & master bedrooms
    • Pet hair cleanup

And anything else you need done. If you ask, we probably do it.

Local Neighborhood Cleaning Tips

Here’s stuff we’ve picked up over the years from cleaning all over the St. George area:

1. Little Valley - Dust - Don't buy black furniture. (a small joke but true)

2. Bloomington Hills - Hard Water Staining In Showers (hard water is actually everywhere in the area)
A squeegee used after each shower will help.

3. Sunriver - Visitor Turnover
Grandkids visiting means more deep cleaning of bathrooms and kitchens.

The St. George homeowners we talk to say they want someone who actually shows up, works hard, and does the job right. Like us: Home And Office Cleaning St. George (435) 879-1239

Got a deep cleaning & it was eye opening

Kitchen
I like to think I keep a relatively clean home. Every weekend I sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, etc. But apparently that’s not enough.

I paid for a deep cleaning today and boy, was it eye-opening. She did not hold back when it came to describing what needed to be done and all the elbow grease that went into it. She wasn’t rude or trying to make me feel bad and I’m not upset. Maybe a little embarrassed that I’m almost 40 and pride myself on keeping a clean home and somehow did not realize how gross certain areas of my home had gotten.

My kitchen was apparently a horror show. How do you manage the gross grease and dust combo that builds up in your kitchen? Be specific, please. What products do you use to clean it and how often are you doing it? What spots in a kitchen might people miss that should be cleaned? She recommended replacing the metal filter thingies that are underneath the range hood so hopefully that helps, in addition to taking care of it more often.

This nasty grease/dust build up was EVERYWHERE in my kitchen. She said that my curtains are coated in it so badly I should just replace them, that they’re probably not salvageable. She sent pictures: the bottom drawer of the oven, the top of the range hood, the little ridge where the tile meets the rest of the wall (our kitchen walls are tile from the floor to about halfway up), the sides/corners of the cabinets, baseboards… everywhere. I’m mortified! How did I not notice?!

We have two cats so the cat fur surely adds to the dust. We do have one air purifier, but apparently it’s not helping all that much when I haven’t been staying on top of it myself.

Thanks in advance for product/process suggestions and any advice you might have! I’m thrilled at the current state of my home after the deep cleaning and I’d like to keep it that way.
